Architecture Nevertheless, 2018

About

I studied architecture at Pratt Institute and Harvard University. After a successful career as a founding principal at Bruner/Cott Architects in Cambridge, Massachusetts and professor at Harvard’s Graduate School of Design, I now devote my creative energies to my work with photography.

I have photographed throughout the United States, Europe, Asia and South America. Images from my early travel portfolio, Prairie Vernacular, were published in Design and Environment magazine. I have lectured on architecture and urban design at Harvard University, Yale University, Columbia University, The Graham Foundation, The Boston Museum of Fine Arts, The Peabody Essex Museum and The Boston Public Library using my private collection of color photo images made over the course of my lifetime. I have exhibited at juried shows at the Griffin Museum of Photography in Winchester MA, The PhotoPlace Gallery in Middlebury Vt, The ASmith Gallery in Johnson City TX, The Concord Art Association in Concord MA, The Cambridge Art Association in Cambridge MA and the Chautauqua Annual Exhibition of Contemporary Art as well as the Griffin Museum. I am self-taught as a photographer and have recently studied at the New England School of Photography, The Maine Media Workshops , The Griffin Museum and at Nobechi Creative with Sam Abell and Arthur Meyerson.
